DR. LISA STROHMAN, JD, PHD, FOUNDER & DIRECTOR
Dr. Lisa Strohman, clinical psychologist and author, established Digital Citizen Academy to proactively prevent and educate students, educators and parents on the issues resulting from technology use.
She has spent more than a decade working with adolescents and families in her private practice and almost two decades working with schools to address challenges with student mental health and well-being
In addition, she has worked with law enforcement and the FBI on safety and cybercrimes involving adolescents, while also lending her knowledge and guidance to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
Dr. Strohman holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of California, Davis, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude and later earned a PhD and J.D., completing a joint integrated program in Law and Psychology at Villanova and Drexel Universities. She is a member of the American Bar Association, and Chair of American Psychological Association, Committee on Legal Issues.
Dr. Strohman is a frequent speaker at schools, parent organizations, and business and community groups where she addresses the challenges of raising responsible digital citizens. She is also regularly featured in the media as a technology wellness and behavioral expert. She has been interviewed by TV and radio news outlets and quoted in numerous print publications including Forbes Magazine, Fast Company, and Huffington Post. You can also hear her as a weekly expert guest on Dr. Drew’s Midday Live radio show.
GREGORY MUIR, CHIEF TECHNOLOGY OFFICER
Greg has spent almost a decade as a business professional in the e-learning industry and is highly experienced in the design of Learning Management Systems.
Customizing programs to match the needs of the customer, Greg is well-versed as a team builder with a focus on customer service. A University of Arizona graduate, Greg earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance.
SUZIE CARY, EDUCATION PROGRAM SPECIALIST
Suzie Cary has devoted her career to educating, enriching, and improving the lives of children. A veteran educator, Suzie’s 35-year career has spanned the globe and allowed her to develop as a leader in teaching and administration, working in Alaska, Thailand, and Arizona.
Her scope of experience includes positions as a classroom teacher, grant writer and coordinator, prevention coordinator and elementary, middle, and high school administrator.
She has authored numerous education articles, research reports and grants, and was recognized for her work in Alaska as Teacher of the Year. Suzie is an active member of the Cave Creek, Arizona community, where she serves as the Prevention Coordinator for the Cave Creek School District and is on the boards of Neighbors in Need and Partners in Education.
She earned a Bachelor of Arts at University of Arizona, a Master’s in education from Arizona State University and a second Master’s degree in administration at University of Alaska Southeast. An avid golfer since childhood, Suzie is a member of the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA). Paralleling her career in education, she has taught, coached and played golf most of her life.
COMMANDER JOSEPH LEDUC, LAW ENFORCEMENT ADVISOR
Joseph LeDuc serves as an advisor to Digital Citizen Academy, providing insight and guidance related to current laws involving children and internet crimes.
He has spent more than 25 years in law enforcement and currently serves as a District Commander. During his career, he has moved up the ranks from officer, working in multiple units including the DEA task force, a homicide investigator and later as a detective and supervisor in the Special Victims Unit where he oversaw all investigations for Internet Crimes Against Children. In addition to his Police Supervision Certificate, Commander LeDuc earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Management, and has a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership. In 2015, Mr. LeDuc was appointed by Arizona Governor Doug Ducey to chair the Parents Commission on Drug Education and Prevention, which serves the Governor’s Office of Youth Faith and Family.
JULIET STRAKER, COMMUNICATION PROGRAM ADVISOR
Juliet is a 20-year veteran in marketing communications and spent much of her career as a consultant, working with companies and organization advising and implementing strategic communication. Growing up in Southern California in a family of educators, instilled her passion for education and lifelong learning.
In addition to serving as Communications Program Advisor for Digital Citizens Academy, Juliet is the founder and principal of a marketing communications and public relations agency, an adjunct professor at the Colangelo School of Business at Grand Canyon University and a volunteer in the scholars program for Boys Hope Girls Hope, a non-profit organization that provides education opportunities and support for academically motivated students in need. Juliet holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economic History from U.C. Berkeley and earned her MBA with an emphasis in marketing from University of Southern California.
NIAMH SUTTON, INTERNATIONAL PROGRAM COORDINATOR
Niamh serves as the International Program Coordinator and supports internal communications for Digital Citizen Academy. She moved to the U.S. from Ireland in 2013.
Growing up in Dublin, Niamh brings a fresh perspective on the differences between the K-12 educational system both here and overseas and offers insight on the universal challenges communities around the globe now face. In addition to working as part of the DCA team, Niamh is an account executive at a marketing communications and public relations firm in Scottsdale, Arizona, where she keeps a pulse on the social media apps many students are now using. Niamh is a graduate of Dublin City University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts with honors in Media Production Management.
