Our Sixth Grade Digital Citizenship Home Program was created to provide parents support in learning how to navigate their child’s digital footprints online. In Sixth Grade Digital Citizenship Home Program, sixth graders will increase their knowledge regarding the importance of controlling their actions online and offline, understand the importance of adhering to a contract, and be taken through scenarios of what cyberbullying looks like and how to find solutions to cyberbullying. In addition, they will be encouraged to discuss, in-depth, the impact technology use, including screen time, has on the brain. In the final module termed “Gaming”, keywords like moderation, preoccupation, addiction and gaming habits will be introduced.
The core kit includes a Family Resource Guide that takes the parent and child step by step through all five of the online video lessons, providing suggested keywords, objectives, activities and points of discussion. The Family Resource Guide is meant to work in conjunction with the Sixth Grade Activity Kit designed to involve and motivate sixth graders through various activity sheets and materials.
